This is the post I referred to. Alexa literally does all this shite for me, minus lights. Like I said, I'm glad y'all enjoy it but I don't think it's for me. I'm a pretty late adopter of most technology though so ya never know.

This is a good deal. Some people spend money on truck nuts and hunting camps, some people spend it on smart home tech.
Between my August locks, Nest, cameras, security system, smart water heater controller, rachio, and smart lighting, I have less than $2000 in with no monthly payments and I save about $70/month on water, electricity and gas. . Some people pay $50 a month for security monitoring.
It pays for itself rather quickly.

Yep. Some people like the poster on the previous page would rather spend a couple hundred on booze.
I would rather spend it making my house amazing. Let's see I have 5 dots, 100+ smart switches, plugs, door sensors, thermostats, smart pool pump, hue system, Sonos system, Plex movie server, Chromecasts, fire TVs and didn't pay retail for a single thing.
It all works together in a beautiful hot mess of auditory and visual bliss that triggers by voice and sensors and when LSU is playing a game and the time of day the sun rises and sets in my little part of paradise.
But you know, keep spending that money on liquor and fireworks.

Yeah, the lights going to purple and gold at kickoff is a favorite of mine.
If you haven't already found it, LSU publishes the hex color codes for the LSU purple and gold that you can just input into IFTTT's applet to change colors.

I do have the Sonos as well throughout the house. Echo dots in every room (Echo Shows as alarm clocks)
The only thing I haven't found that I like is a doorbell. I don't really want a camera doorbell because I still want the elegant look with the bronze. but I'd love something that had smart features that would trigger an alert if someone rang it.

Tried that and it didn't look very good to me (hue gen2 color bulbs) so I just experimented until I found 2 colors that looked better.

I asked wifey for this for Christmas. I figured she would only get me the white light version, but i sent her this link and she jumped on it.
It's great it comes with 4 bulbs, but now i'm now walking around the house thinking of all the bulbs i want to add to the bridge. how do you guys afford the bulbs with them being so expensive?

eBay.
Be patient. You can find great deals on single coloured bulbs.
Also you don't need color bulbs everywhere. Stick with the white hue which you can get for about $8 ea for areas you just need a light to dim only.
There is a thread on the tech board where I cover how to do this in detail.
