You know NOLA got money from the fed over the course of time. The way I see it, the people of the US have a say and all money NOLA ever received for those monuments should be paid pack at the very least.

Looking through old articles online, I know the Liberty Monument, the one located by the aquarium...that actually had something about white supremacy on it. That one is the only one that has had any history or criticism about removal that I could find. All of the other ones, talk didn't come up about their removal/criticism until after Dylan Roof.

New Orleans doesn't "need " any money. This city is doing just fine.

Blacks do represent a majority of registered voters in NOLA, so what was wrong with putting the statues issue on a ballot before the whole city to vote on?
If the population had voted to take them down I would have NO PROBLEM with it at all.
Mich Landrieu is a total piece of shite who created this controversy in hopes of benefitting from it.
Mich and those ignorant fricks on the City Council can all suck a dick for railroading this through and doing in the middle of the night.
A referendum would have been totally legit and we could have told all the protesters to get fricked, the citizens had spoken. Now, you have more incendiary bullshite.

The City Council is a complete disaster. I was at a meeting a few weeks ago and it's mind boggling that these people are up there. A few of them have no command of the English language, and the lame duck from A seems to just exist in an alternate reality where there is no crime, so why is anyone being prosecuted or jailed. It's simply incredible to think she represents Lakeview.

LOL, yeah, that's why the roads are full of potholes, the water is not fit for drinking, the levees have not been maintained, and half of the city is an eyesore. Yeah New Orleans manages its money so well.
