I'm sure wikipedia is the ultimate authority, but..

CFR Title 36 ? Chapter I ? PART 60—NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES

§60.2 Effects of listing under Federal law.

The National Register is an authoritative guide to be used by Federal, State, and local governments, private groups and citizens to identify the Nation's cultural resources and to indicate what properties should be considered for protection from destruction or impairment. Listing of private property on the National Register does not prohibit under Federal law or regulation any actions which may otherwise be taken by the property owner with respect to the property.

I don't see why they would. The items themselves will still be on the registry, wherever they end up.

This is not a very exclusive list. There are 14 entire neighborhoods in New Orleans on the National Register. Not streets, I'm talking about the entirety of Midcity, Algiers Point, the Warehouse District, Treme, etc.

The only statue which would receive any level of protection is Jackson, as the constitutionally created Vieux Carre Commission does regulate those things.

ETA: No one cares if you do or don't spend money in NOLA. And to the downvoters, frick y'all. You're just emotional basket cases like him. I don't want Beauregard coming down either but protesting the ENTIRE city is fricking retarded.

Yes, should be considered for protection. They aren't.

And you stopped your bold right before the most relevant part.

The next "part" was a new sentence, not a comma.

But since you ask. Is the monument on private land or public land? It does not say all non-federal lands are private.

Yes, they are.

<---represented the State Historic Preservation Office which makes these nominations.

"Historic District" is a term used by New Orleans. Those are districts on the National Register of Historic Places.
