Chris, the guy who shows him around and gives history of the city was great but just another reminder for me how I couldn’t live in New Orleans.

The entire Louisiana series has been great.

I would also recommend his series on Latino OG gangs of LA, his look at the Amish/Mennonites in Ohio/PA, his run through WV.

The guy giving him the tour doesn't even live there anymore. Moved to Mississippi because "the issues have become more than the fun". He never really explained the issues.

I thought he said during the last hurricane he was out of power for 5 weeks and that was the last straw and moved to Brookhaven?

Did you watch the video ? He mentions quite a few issues .

Anyway, i liked his little spiel you mentioned, at around the 17 min mark, where he said “The problems went up, and the fun went down .. How many times can you go to Mardi Gras ? How many times can you go to Jazzfest ? .. Life is short, it was time for somehting different “… i loved it becuase that’s exaclty how i feel , not just about New Orleans , but about America as a whole.. and why im *trying* to leave post haste.. Gonna take a couple more years though.. But I totally get what he means .

Knows history but these elitist snobs are so out of touch with how the middle class & even upper middle class live in New Orleans.

They can sure point out the poor fricks tho, and knows about your Mardi Gras Krewe buddies. Which, by the way; no one gives a shite about, unless you are in one or want to be in one.

Dude got so nervous when poor Black guy was calling him boss. His own little present day slave lol.

Unpopular opinion - his videos, like Peter himself, are a bit dull and boring

Yeah definitely an unpopular opinion. I haven’t watched one of Peter’s videos and didn’t like it. He’s great at what he does

I dont understand some of you Negative Nancys… the tour guide guy, Christopher, while i agree he did have a little bit of a strange affected accent- he literally talked about how one of the main reasons he left NOLA was becuase there were several weeks each year where he didnt have power and couldnt effectively run his business.. What’s more middle/upper middle class New Orleans than that ?

He said his house ran on a generator for 5 weeks

Good for him, really sounds like he was struggling during that time

His videos are only as strong as his subjects. And the ones he’s found for LA has mostly sucked. The house boat couple in Pierre Part were strong

Just watched it. Very interesting but like you, a reminder of why I want no part of it.

We have family who think it is the center of the universe but not me.

Even the knowledgeable guy hauling him around has escaped to Missippy.

It was an OK video….

Typical uptowner’s view of New Orleans….and a lot of it you have to take with a grain of salt, like saying the 80’s were bad in New Orleans… The 80’s were awesome in the city, it was the 90’s when it went to shite.

Spent about 2 minutes in Mid-City, Didn’t mention a word about Lakeview or surrounding neighborhoods. Didn’t show anything around the lake, and didn’t cross the river to Algiers.

Didn’t mention a word about City Park… not even saying it was bigger than Central Park.

Santenello is awesome.

The host seemed off to me in this.

New Orleans must be preserved, at the very least for the sake of stability and keeping the knuckleheads in one place. But for more than that too.

It just seems so undeserving. And maybe futile.
