Person beaten and carjacked off Perkins Road last night by fake police officers

BATON ROUGE - Authorities are investigating reports of a person who was pulled over by someone pretending to be a police officer and then carjacked.

Sources tell WBRZ the attack happened sometime after midnight in the Sherwood Forest area and was carried out by at least two people in a car outfitted with flashing lights. The victim was reportedly beaten and restrained before the robbers took off with both vehicles.

One of the vehicles was later spotted by police, triggering a pursuit. That chase ended with the suspect crashing into a home off Gus Young Avenue, and at least one person was taken into custody after running away from the crash scene.

I remember the days when Sherwood Forest area was a nice neighborhood

Unrelated but I had a dude flash his blue lights at me for going around him in the slow lane. Pissed me off so I slowed down and told him what he was doing was illegal. He pointed at his shirt with a badge on it. Told him I didn’t give a frick he couldn’t pull that shite in his personal car. I don’t know the law but it made me feel better.
