Is it supposed to rain this weekend? Most of the weather sites don't look bad on Sunday. I'm showing up Saturday night

Seriously, check out arseinclarse’s old food blog, the Fatty Rewind. It will give you an idea of some great local spots to eat and drink at.

Jacqueimos uptown (get the alligator cheesecake), carousel bar downtown, Frenchman, Copelands Seafood uptown, WWII museum, Cochon, Aquarium downtown, Jackson Square, Royal Street shopping, Petit Grocery, Audobon zoo and lunch at the Columns Hotel.

Good luck!

Please remind them the answer to "I bet I can tell you where you got yo shoes at?" is "On my feet?"

Also remind them that answering correctly will not make them less likely to be robbed.

Not getting shot or robbed is a good start. Anything else is icing on the cake

Plan for rain, but most of the time they're predicting lots of rain this far in advance, most of it goes north of the Lake.
Probably some festivals around. Getting to be that time of year.
If raining, just get drunk at Carousel bar and PIIHB

If you want to give her severe culture shock and introduce her to the fine folks of nearby parishes... then do this. Definitely a chance to show her multiple examples of the best haircut int he world.

Upperline, August and Central grocery would also be on my food list for a first time NOLA foodie. Maybe Commanders Palace or Brennan's for nostalgia.

Doris Metro and GW Fins are great too but not as regional in cuisine.

Rent a car for Monday, take her to the Chalmette battlefield and to Rocky and Carlos for lunch.

Then Ferry ride over to Belle Chase and for a walk through the National Park swamps. Then out to the airport via Huey P Long. (If there's time left go to one of the great local grocery stores in Jefferson Parish.)

Not this weekend....just booked today for later in the month.

Should have waited until April 12-15 for French Quarter Fest. That's a chef's dream festival!

People are going to hate on me, but if it is nice on Sunday, you can't beat going take a stroll through the Audubon zoo. Maybe go walk down Magazine and just take in everything. See if they have any type of festival going on this weekend. There is a site somewhere that has all the events going on in NO.. Just google "things to do in New Orleans" or something.

I would stay away from the quarter when it comes to places to eat. Ride a street car..

Go visit Tom Benson in the hospital. He is in ICU, but showing signs of improving.. Got the notification on my phone as I was typing this thread.
