Do you regularly use the word "ghastly" and what kind of cigarette holder do use? Spats? What brand?

Well ... I find people who are ghastly unaware of global politics only vote for the politicians that affect them

Told all the Louisiana state workers in my family not to vote for JBE - most did bc he gave them a raise - screw the rest of us - most of those same people probably don’t know who Boris Johnson, Leo Varadkar, Angela Merkel, or Emmanuel Macron are.

You are right. Plenty of people don’t like it to hear it and will call it American centric. But the US has to be by far the most talked about country in the world. Some of the talk are the positive things while plenty is negative and neutral observations.

It’s actually shocking how much the U.S. is talked about and how much influence we have on other countries, both in terms of things emulated and things reacted against.

Other countries, even far flung 3rd world countries follow US news pretty regularly.

I actually hate to see it. First of all, they often get skewed information from sources like CNN, and secondly, I’d like for those cultures to remain somewhat distinct from our own.

There’s too much homogenation taking place, especially regarding things like Kardasian cult following, Lebron James, identity politics and BLM.

They’ve had anti-police riots in other countries over the death of George Floyd!

Well, Canada, Australia, and France have more wealth per adult than we do, so maybe you’re right.

...But we do have more nukes than them, so we come out ahead.

Most people wouldn’t get that reference. I have no idea about the remodeling habits of foreign leaders.

A solid percentage of people who claim they understand current Russian and or Chinese foreign policy are just as clueless as those people who don't know who Boris Johnson is.

Economics, geography... Two of the most important topics an informed adult should understand, and we are pretty dumb. Its not just us, but due to American culture abroad they know more about us than we do them.

It’s funny. Many Europeans seem to know all about America politics. Yet many Americans will probably have trouble naming one current European leader. Or any world leader besides Putin. That being said Europeans seem to care too much about American politics.

It's like on the rant when other fans come to troll. It never crossed my mind to go lurk other teams fan forums. I don't give a frick about their team or online fans.

One of the more shocking things I experienced while in Zimbabwe was we went to a school and they had history books and were learning about George Washington and they were asking us about him. I’ll never forget that, I didn’t know what I expected them to be learning but US history wasn’t it

North Vietnamese regular army soldiers and Viet Cong ADORED George Washington. They viewed him as the epitome of a revolutionary warrior.

90%

Not all their fault though. I’m sure there are plenty of ppl who would like to be more informed but the sources they think they can trust are constantly feeding them BS. They either recognize it and stop trying, or they don’t recognize it and believe the crap they’re hearing.

Well, I tuned out of the news cycle and purposefully keep my head buried these days, so count me in on the ignorant as of late. I used to hate politics when I was younger, and have begun to remember why.

There are only two downsides to a lifetime of deep study into world history and politics.

1. is it gives you a true sense of how utterly clueless the vast majority of people are.

2. You see clearly how their cluelessness is bringing about the collapse of western civilization and leading your country into becoming a third world socialist/progressive shithole.

There’s a solution to the problem but I would be banned if I posted it.
