I'll still never drink pepsi products but I'm glad retro logos are so in now with companies and sports teams. Old school stuff looks clean in the modern day.

Looks like a mashup of the 1950-'86 logo (wordmark) and the '87-'97 logo (edging) to me.

I'm probably alone in the South on this, but I (slightly) prefer Pepsi cola over coke.

87-97 was the goat. No reason to change from the clean simplicity of that one.

Not inclusive enough. Needs to be rainbow colored.

The challenge was how can we take something that was part of our heritage and our past and project it to the present and the future."

Apparently their answer was to put the 50-86 font on the 87-97 logo, darken the colors, and call it a day. So the future is just the past slightly darkened

These marketing folks have nothing better to do than spend years ruining logos. Here’s the last logo reasoning:

Current logo looks like a fat boy

1905-1949 is my personal favorite.

1987-1997 has a shite ton of nostalgia value for me.

Typical ad agency work: recycle an old design and change the font. Next declare it “bold, new, and amazing.”

So you don’t drink any Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Lipton Tea, Starbucks, Aquafina, Gatorade, Tropicana, dole, naked juice, ocean spray, etc.??
