Doesn't uninsured motorist insurance cover incidents like this.

UMBI pays for medical bills. You can buy UMPD to go along with that or your file with your own company if you have collison

That's why legit insured drivers pay so much more for insurance now - to cover uninsured motorists. Thus happened twice in our family where my brother's car was fricked by a dumbass who had no insurance and no job. He go 0 from that bastard. It happened to me when I had liability only on an older vehicle and kid had a revoked license and no insurance. 3 years later his momma paid up.

fricking rifrickingdiculous!

I have an idea for not fully fixing, but at least making a large dent in the not having car insurance thing.

Make it so people have insurance cards that must be swiped to activate the gas pump.

No car insurance, no gas.

I realize that some people will find ways to cheat, and people will scream that is is racist, but you have to start somewhere.

I can't have both collision and uninsured property damage.

So if you're at fault in an accident, you have no coverage to fix your vehicle?

O&G lobby would never, ever allow that.

How are you getting to the station to get gas for it?

I never said it was likely to happen.

In LA, your collision coverage would cover damages to your car if an uninsured driver hits you. Uninsured motorists coverage is to pay for your injuries caused by uninsured driver.

If you have liability only, then you can add on uninsured motorists property damage coverage to cover you vehicle damage caused by an uninsured driver

You can send a letter to the DMV requesting an insurance inquiry for the driver and/or owner of an offending vehicle, and if they don't produce proof of valid insurance, their license will be suspended for 6 months.

Why should I even get insurance if I don't cause wrecks and dumbasses who do don't have it?

People who do not have insurance do not have assets. If you have assets and cause a wreck the victims can come after your assets. That's why you have insurance.
