Louis Vuitton. No other reason for them to exist.

Those purses are hideous.

Like everything else, the market has determined that they should exist, and what they should cost.

I have a pathological need to hide my wealth. I've got plenty enough money but I like wearing clothes from Goodwill. Especially when dealing with car salesmen.

Apples and oranges are different, they're both still fruit.

I’d rather live in Robert’s Cove or mowata then live in river ranch or any place like Los Angeles or New York.

It’s not a symbol of wealth or status. I am addressing OP in that because you have a luxury item doesn’t always mean you are flaunting it.

I don't know what you are speaking of, but I can tell by yours and others font choices etc. that my computer costs A LOT more than yours. Probably $1000 more. And since yall dont speak as well as I do you are all probably quite a bit down on the social scale than I am.

That is all I got.

My wife and I are millionaires and we drive a 16 year old car, why? Because it still runs and it suits our needs. Most people who try to show off their wealth are usually not as as wealthy or have as much as they try and appear to have. Many multimillionaires and people that have money you'd never know it. There was this one guy where I was stationed that looked like a straight
up hobo and owned alot of property, a few businesses, and had over 10 million in the bank. Talking to the guy you would never know it. Most people that try to show off likely came into some money through inheritance and do not know what they are doing.

Having worked in banking for a while, and done business with a number of wealth management people, I can assure you this is a often repeated myth. For every person with a net worth of a few million dollars or more driving a beater car there are 50 driving a late model high end car, same goes for homes. Sure, there are people living in high end neighbors that are overextended, the overwhelming majority live there because they can afford to, and foreclosure statistics bear this out.

Some new money people deliberately try to avoid ostentatious displays of wealth so that they will be perceived as old money.

That’s how deep this rabbit hole goes.
