People who shop right before closing time

Friend of mine needed a couple of suits for work and asked if I would go with him. The store closes at 6 p.m. and we arrived at 5:50 p.m. I was embarrassed, he wasn't. "They don't mind staying late." The employees of the store were very nice, but we weren't out of the store until after 6:30.
I suggested that he give the employees something extra for working late. He said "they get paid."
10 minutes till close to buy suits at a decent store? You want to run in and buy socks? Fine. Suits? No.
When we got back in the car, I told him that it was rude to come in last minute. He said the employees had no problem with it. Would you if you worked there?

Where the frig you shopping at that closes at 6 pm? Must be a boutique or haberdashery.

does a doctor get pissed when he’s about to leave work and a patient gets rushed in?
No. He sucks it up and does his job.
Does a refinery worker get pissed when 10 min before he clocks out, something goes wrong and he has to stay a few hours to help correct the problem? No he sucks it up and does his job.
Does a cop get pissed because he got called to a shooting scene right before he left for home? No. He goes to the scene and does his job.
Why is it that none of these men and women bitch and complain when shite happens and they have to work late, but it’s the end of the fricking world for a min wage clothes folder to have to stay 20 min late to help someone find their clothes?

Most small, good stores close at 5 or 6 p.m.

Great people. Met Jay through a friend way back in 95 before things got rolling. In fact his brother was a cardboard box salesman to our company. We had more boxes than we could ever use paid on the company dime lol. We were all young and generally hung out watching sports... our other friend was a bookie so everyone in one house or a bar was unforgettable.
