Can you see the difference between a speaker and earphone?

I was at Pho Nola yesterday around noon and there was this guy sitting eating alone playing some weird arse techno music videos while eating. It was louder than the music the restaurant was playing. I thought it was very inconsiderate, but, not worth my time/effort to tell him anything.

Same people who drive up to an atm and proceed to take 10 minutes while a line of cars are behind them.

How about playing music on your office computer? I keep mine low, but I'm pretty sure it can still be heard right outside my office.

Wasn't music but some guy at the doctor's office was playing a game on his phone with the volume set to max. That was beyond annoying but then he got a phone call and of course, used his speaker to carry on the loud conversation. I got called back not long after, I did mention it to the nurse and she said it was a problem that most waiting rooms are having to deal with. Some people have no respect for others.

Why didn't you speak up and respectfully (as in, not yelling at him) ask him to turn it down?

Was on a cruise last week (not Carnival, so not trashy), and a guy had a bluetooth speaker and his phone in a chair beside me, playing his rap music instead of using earbuds.

How do people think this is anything other than inconsiderate?

Yes, earphones that I can't hear are better than a speaker that everyone can hear.
