Never understood why people in Louisiana never adopted the pull over to let others pass move like people in Texas do.

I just got back from Texas yesterday. Here are my observations:

From Amarillo to La/Tx border most drivers used the right lane except to pass. I-49 from Shreveport to Laffy most drivers used right lane. But, from Laffy to BTR I noticed a lot of left lane drivers and some right lane drivers going too slow/under speed limit. Also, in Texas, you'll be reminded a lot to drive at least the speed limit. I got caught sight seeing and was "asked" to speed up.

Surface streets of NOLA are crazy. A couple of months ago at Claibiorne and St Bernard I was at a light and this lady behind me lays on the horn. I couldn't get why. She then poped the curb and ran the redlight. I thought that was insane, then last month at Franklin and Robertson the exact same thing happened. It's like red lights don't exist. Plus you know the people who do that most likely have no insurance.

this happened last week...I'm riding on Gentilly Blvd. going 35 and there's cars in both lanes and I see this dumbass in my rearview mirror going at least 50 fly right up on my car. I immediately took my foot off the pedal. They in turn hastily got in the other land and almost hit my car and the car in front of them in the other lane trying to pass me

a while back, I was going up the I-10E onramp from Claiborne right by the dome and this Jeep flys up from behind and is behind me tailgating the shite out of me. I'm going a moderate speed up the onramp. A while later right before the N Claiborne exit, this same Jeep tailgates me again and I'm in the right lane. At this point I'm getting a little worried. I get off at Elysian Fields and right as I approach the Brother's gas station at 610, the SAME JEEP tailgates me again. I was honestly scared and would've considered pulling a gun on them had I had one in the car. I kept straight on Elysian Fields and they turned on 610.

Then the car in front technically is the "slow traffic", hence what the sign means

No. If the car in front going over the speed limit then by definition it is not slow traffic.

Might be slower than you want to go but its not slow traffic.

"Slow Traffic Keep Right" means keep right for people going the speed limit or slower.

That doesn't make sense. I want to speed and to do that I pass people on the left and then return to the right lane until the next time I need to pass.

What attracts you so much to the left lane and why are you so defensive about getting out of the way to let faster traffic through?

Is this a joke? Texans are the absolute worst of the worst when it comes to parking in the left lane. It's been this way for as long as I can remember. That being said, Louisiana drives are still inconsiderate as shite overall, but nobody camps out in the passing lane like Texans.

BOOM! Finally a post from someone that has actually driven and/or lived in the State of Texas.

What a joke to suggest that Texans don't drive, coast and/or park in the left lane. They invented it.

I would advise against flashing your lights at people

This is why so many people from the South are terrible drivers in general. People from the South should be required to go drive up north for about a month.

The inside lane does not belong to slow drivers. This isn't NASCAR, you don't have to be offended because someone wants to pass you. Just kindly move the hell over if you can.

Why was he (Napolean) in the left lane if there was no car in the right lane? Isn't the left lane only for passing?

SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT "Slower Traffic Keep Right" sign tells drivers that are driving slower than the rest of traffic to move to the right so they won't cause an incident.
Simple google search of traffic rules yielded this.

- left hand lane campers
- bright light fricktards who refuse to dim them
- cruise-control zealots left lane slow-passers (these are the worst because they crawl about .25 mph faster than the car in the right lane until there's about 10 angry cars stacked up behind them..18 wheelers have mastered this passive aggressive tactic by suddenly jumping into the left lane about 2 seconds before you are about to pass.

I wasn't there, I assume he was passing other traffic but that the right lane was clear for the car in front of him. That is how this scenario usually occurs.

Because he thought he owned that lane more than the other person.

Just cause you want to speed doesn't mean you have the right to.

If you are going to follow a car, try to at least maintain 1.5-2 seconds behind them. (if you can't calculate speed in seconds behind you obviously failed drivers ed, it was on there)

That's why I love Adaptive Cruise Control. I set it on 80-85 and it slows the car down to maintain an appropriate distance from the car in front of me.

I can't stand people loitering in the left lane. If someone comes up behind me, I just move over and let them pass, then I move back over to pass other cars. It really isn't that hard to be courteous. Besides that guy usually gets the tickets and clears the way for you.

Simply put flashing lights is a sign of aggression. Maybe not to you, but to many people. You may not like it, but the world doesn't revolve around you.

See. This is wrong, and not to me, but it's just wrong.

Flashing to pass is the way you ask a car to get out of the way. What other way is there?

Ride his arse?
Pass on the right?

each much more dangerous than simply flashing a light, no?

You know back in the day, lights had to be ON to flash high beams. When automakers made it to where you could just pull back on the stalk......

.....They called it "flash to pass".

I was just asking. I don't drive 70, but I also don't get all fired up about someone doing 75 in the left lane not moving over because I'm doing 85. If I'm speeding I can't complain about someone else in the left not following a different rule.

Not that the op was pissed about the not pulling over part.

Flashing lights is asking the car in front of you to move over.

You suck

Why do some people take offense and get threatened by this?

Nothing threatening about it. Just an a-hole thing to do, but so is posting up in the left hand lane at all.
