Agreed.
I think reparations were appropriate long ago to those directly impacted - but they were never granted.
Now it’s impractical. It would at best do nothing and more than likely do more harm than good.

this is an oversimplification, and a little bit facetious but it's similar to current day changing of laws to legalize things there were illegal just a short time ago, if slavery was legal until it wasn't why the need for reparations? NIL wasn't legal until recently but would have warranted the death penalty just a couple of years ago and everyone thinks it's cool

Just wait until a bunch of people not born in America or California have to foot that reparations bill. In a state slavery was never legal.

The original order was to set aside land from the carolinas to florida, and it would have been governed by the freed slaves. So basically we would have had the coast there look like haiti.

Reparations should be a one-way ticket to your country of origin with complete forfeiture of any rights and or privileges gained by being a US citizen.

Besides the fact that his will never happen because they (California) can’t afford it, can you imagine the fricking implications of doing this?
fricking inflation would go out of control in CA. If they think housing costs are high now, go ahead and give blacks a couple million each and see what happens.
I imagine retailers would see huge profits from this though. Clothing, shoes, auto sales, rims and audio sound systems.

This is true. The "black community" is just a political arm of the DNC. It doesn't represent individual black folks. They pick a few leaders to repeat the DNC points and if you disagree you "aint black."

Anthony Johnson, a black man, was the 1st person to own slaves in the US.

my daughter went on a safari there a couple of years ago, some village chief offered 12 cows for her, I told her if I'd have been there she'd be an African princess and I'd have an ag exemption
