Are they assholes?

I'm trying to put together a big email to 100+ people in the company, but there's so many people that have one name on their accounts, but use a different name for their company email. How the hell am I supposed to know that Joseph is called Sean?

end melt

Your company should use email addresses that use the name people go by.

So you are one of those send to "all users" people. Reconsider your life choices.

I hate the ones that want to include a first initial.

J. Kensington Dildo is the name.

frick you...Joe Dildo or Ken Dildo. Pick one.

For what it’s worth, my twin brother and I go by our middle names but not because we chose to, our parents just always called us by our middle names. Strangely enough, our other three siblings are all called by their first name. ¯\_(?)_/¯

I'll go on my own rant here, my daughter is the 4th. Not technically, but my wife is the 3rd and gave my daughter a different middle name and call her by that because my wife goes by her first and her mother goes by her middle because her mother went by the first.

Naming a daughter the same as their mom blows the governments mind. Places like schools, airports, etc. can't handle a mom and daughter with the same name and initials. Even though the DOB and SSN is different.

I can't highly recommend not doing that enough, its been such a cluster.

ETA: One time I mistakenly bought plane tickets with both my wife and daughter as "Ms." L...L...Johnson. It blew everyone in Delta's mind up to like a 2nd level management on the phone. They almost didn't let us fly even with passports stating it. Apparently there can't be 2 "Ms. Johnson's" on the same flight, which is utter horseshite considering there easily could and furthermore again the DOB, SSN, and passports.

I worked with a chick whose first and middle names were Elizabeth Colby. She would sign her name, E. Colby _______. Everybody started calling her E. Coli behind her back. Once she got wind of it, she stated going by Liz.

It’s annoying, but shouldn’t you have a secretary for this shite?

I haven't gone by my first or middle name since birth.

My parents wanted to name me a particular name but my dad wanted my middle name to be his father's and my mom wanted hers. So they gave me both grandfather's names but called me what they wanted to name me. No wonder they got divorced

The name I've gone by my entire life isn't on any official document.

How does a company of 100+ employees with emails not have this set up already? You probably do OP, go to someone in management or HR and they probably have that email list already made. Do you now work with gmail or Outlook or another email software that let's you create groups?

Their parents are yes.

I hate my mother for naming me but knowing she wanted me to go by my middle name. Why not just put it first? It causes so many fricking issues.
