I put everything on my CC and pay it off every month.

Smh if you're still doing this for essentials. You're leaving money on the table every single time by not paying credit and stacking up rewards/cash back.
So short minded. If it’s cash, how do you know for certain that it was income?

Doesn't really matter to me either way what someone does. I started using CC's only when I got out of college and needed to build credit. I had no other way to do so - had no loans, car notes, mortgage, etc.
These days, it's just a matter of convenience. I'd have to visit an ATM to get cash, and then I find it annoying to pay with most of the time. Mostly just get cash out for hotel stays where I'll be tipping staff, or a rare strip club visit.
When I got married, almost every vendor wanted to charge 3%-7% if you used a credit card, so I paid for everything with a check. I also notice large service jobs like landscaping or home repair/renovation work will give discounts for cash payments.
Restaurants these days seem to throw a fee onto the receipt before they even know how you're going to pay, so I don't know that using cash in those instances really helps any.

Its the American way.
Buy what you can't afford, worry about paying for it later.

Many divorced men pay cash so the court system can't pull their bank account records.
Yes sir! I learned this the hard way.
This guy gets it. You don't want the courts overseeing ever last dime you spend.

As if someone's going to be poring over a bank statement and not wonder about large cash withdrawals in 2025.
When I went through the child support portion of my divorce, my bank statements were subpoenaed. There's no paper trail on that cash once it's taken out via ATM. A bank statement lists the vendor's name on each transaction. Just withdraw $200 a week for "random living expenses" and it leaves a gray area.

Unless their employers pay them in cash, their withdrawals are no less visible FWIW.
Yes, but don't just give the courts an itemized list with a bank statement.

I believe you. I’ve never been in that system so I don’t know the full extent of how they audit there.
But man that seems like it should be on the person withdrawing the cash to keep records if it’s a child support situation. And if not it should be assumed that they are concealing cash. Alimony I’m more split on.
But that won’t be popular here. I’m of the mindset that when you have a child your entire life should be about raising that child and providing it the best life you can regardless of how much of a shitty person your partner is.

I started using my credit card more often, but has more to do with security.

So you just perjure yourself instead? You have to account for your money either way… or lie to the court about it

I don't, but a lot of CS paying dad's do. I know several who work side jobs for cash just to have spending money.

I have several places that will give me a discount and no tax if I pay cash so it makes sense.

I'm noticing more and more business are tacking on a 1-3% "fee" for using a CC so those cash back rewards likely negate themselves.
