Go-Fund-Me
I knew this site was stupid when a woman set up a GoFundMe account bc she claimed to have lost all her money on powerball tickets

Online begging. I can't understand those who donate.
I have no problem with gofundme for true illness or tragic life events.

My fiancé and I can't wait to be husband and wife, and our 7 year old is very impatiently waiting for the wedding day but it's just not financially possible any time in the near future.
In truth they are lying to themselves and everyone else about this. They can afford a wedding. It's just that the wedding that they want is out of their budget. They are unwilling to live within their means, and they want to make it everyone else's problem. They could probably afford a very small ceremony with just the closest friends and family, or they could even just go the the courthouse and forgo a wedding ceremony completely. There's nothing wrong with either of these options.
A lot of women have been told that making this one day perfect is of the utmost importance. It isn't. That's a lie. It's just a big party. It can be a nice experience, but it isn't worth doing a bunch of bull shite you can't afford.

Hey, maybe I could afford Phase 2 of the remodeling with a GoFundMe page!
"I'm desperately in need of upgraded, top of the line finishes and a spa-like master bath with a huge master closet. The flooring in the bedroom wing is an embarrassment. Please help me meet the standard of living I so richly deserve."

People have donated over $50k, without having any idea how, or if, this money will ever reach a single deserving person. Holy frick people are dumb.

I need to visit GFM more ofteN just to read more stupid shite like in the OP. It's amazing how people of all walks get the guts to do this.
I find it equally as entertaining to read the OT and see how many people are offended by this kind of thing. I mean you're going to a place that is designed to help people ask for money for a litany of causes/reasons, and you know things like this are out there, but you continue to read and find them and bring them here.
It is like going to World Star Hip Hop and coming here to bitch about the fall of humanity and the prevalence of fighting.
Just. Stop. Going.

Do they delete spoof accounts. I'm thinking about setting one up to pay for the high end hooker that is going to take my virginity.

I've got no problem with dumb GFMs. I view it as another voluntary idiot tax... Like the lottery. Idiots that contribute deserve to be parted with their money. And I ever by some chance recognize someone from a bull shite GFM, well, that's a good heads up to avoid them in any circumstance.

The people that fund them are worse lol. This is the type of thing that I dislike about gofundme.

The problem is ignorant fricks who give them money.

Wounded Warrior Project? There were quite a few people fooled by that one. I distrust many charity organizations, especially if they're run like a business. I've even heard things about the head of the United Way traveling around in limousines and private jets.....

These cats are asking people who plan on buying them a gift for their baby shower to instead donate the amount they would spent on a gift so that they can buy, who I assume to be the girls husband/boyfriend, a new motor for his truck.

This guy is asking people for donations so he can move back home to Baltimore.
LINK
He is asking for a goal of $4500 to bring him home. He says he is not asking for donations to help pay his bills but to simply get home then in the next section says the fees will be used to pay the buyout on his apartment.
I think people move to Cali without being aware of the cost of living adjustment.
