Seeing these EV commercials. They really be getting people to think to themselves that they are doing their part to save the world?

I know a woman that is on her third Prius. She trades them in so she doesn't have to pay for the battery replacement. She has the I'm a veggie and Vote Edwards sticker and all.

Why are you so worried about their motives. I can tell you that I am a skeptic on catastrophic global warming, but I intend to get an EV soon. The reason is that it is far superior to any ICE vehicle in every way except endurance and fuel availability. And these two things are completely unimportant for my driving missions.
I’m not sure if this information will calm you or make you more anxious, but there it is.

I have had 3 electric vehicles and when I got my first - every random EV douche would say “thanks for helping out Earth” and crap like that.
Now it seems that no one cares. And they should not.
It’s just a vehicle choice.
No different than a tool in my tool box. When I need a hammer, I get a hammer. When I need a torx screwdriver, I get that.
No one is doing anything good for anyone but themselves in their vehicle choices.

I miss the days of non-EV commercials. I’m beyond annoyed with the EV trend, and the commercial content has gotten worse.

I know a guy that bought the smaller Tesla car. He got it at 3 years old and is quite proud that he drives it to work, gets a parking place in front, and charges it for free.
He occasionally FAFO and has to scramble to find a charging station to spend 40 minutes at.
He doesn't save a penny for the future, (Early 40's) and that battery replacement thing is going to be unmanageable.
