Especially towns like Corinth, Pontotoc, Booneville, and the outskirts of Tupelo. You couldn't pay me to live there.

I live in central Virgia. I think people that live in Northern Virginia are insane. You couldn't pay me enough to live in a huge metro area like that.

And the cotton district and a few areas of Starkville are nice...but for the most part....that place is a desolate shithole with no money. The outskirts of Stark are rundown as frick and full of eyesores

We don't share any cultural, demographic, political, religious, common ties with the rest of the state. Tennessee has no real identity because it's a tiny state stretched so far.
I'm closer to Tulsa than I am to the flagship campus of this state, and Tennessee goes on in the other direction for over another hour.
I simply DGAF about them or the rest of this state.

The hillbillies hate Memphis and Middle Tennessee.
I don't think West TN and Middle TN worry too much about East TN.
Sharing a border with MS and AR makes it a little too convenient for those people to cross into our part of the state. AR people are the worst. They love to get on the interstate and drive 55 in the left lane.
