They can both live for around 70 years so they will outlive me at this point.

I hate those people who use their pets as an excuse not to leave the house for more than 3 hours and get blackout drunk

Ever since reading the book "Influx", I have wanted a pair of Ravens. Also became extremely interested in corvids.

The cockatoo has a horrible name but he knows it so we can't change it. They named him Harley. He says all the time "Harley is a pretty bird" so he is stuck with it.

I will put it in my will

Apparently, with birds like the African Grey that gets so attached, some people put it in a will to have the bird put down if they die because the birds can become very depressed and won't take to another person or family easily.

Yeah, that's a tough one. We adopted a pup that the owner had to give up. Named Gunner... He was young so we renamed him... Luckily, it 'took'...

That completely sucks. I have a terrible mutt who’s on Prozac but I wouldn’t give her up for the world. She’s so mean she’d never take to another family.

I went through a breed rescue when I got My second dog. Sweetest golden you could ever meet.

We got our first dog through a breed rescue and he has been the perfect family dog. He was 3 yrs old and a terrier mix breed. We love him like one of our kids.

My local shelter put out that they were about to have to euthanize some animals for the first time in a few years because they have to make room.

A lot of labs up for adoption last I looked.
