Lockdowns around the world led to a pandemic boom for the billion dollar pet industry. Now, as Covid restrictions lift and workers return to the office, animal shelters are seeing an increase in pet parents abandoning their pets. Take a look.

People are idiots and make stupid decisions that others, in this case animals have to pay the price for.
You can probably get a pretty good full breed dog pretty soon at a shelter.

I went through a breed rescue when I got My second dog. Sweetest golden you could ever meet.

People bite off more than they can chew with pets all the time.

Honestly, if you adopted a pet because you were lonely and shut off and now you’re ditching it because you’re going back to work, you belong on some kind of list.

That's so cruel to dogs especially. There are a lot of folks out there who simply suck at being human.

Pathetic

Dog ownership is a huge responsibility, I take it very serious.

I still have Homey the Clown's pooch from over on the OB. She's settled in well out here.

We took in an Umberella Cockatoo that someone got and decided after a month they no longer wanted / couldn't handle.

We are his third family apparently. The original owners neglected him then got rid of him when they had an unexpected pregnancy.

He is so awesome so I am not sure how someone wouldn't want him but some birds take a lot of work.

*Serious(ly) I think that's an adverb.

Try to do better.
