Fourth largest army in the world at the time.
Of course, the third largest was the Hare Krishnas and they already controlled all our airports.

Might be multiple variants of the "EX", some we don't sell?

Okay, found a link to the last two weeks weather near Charleston and the worst was partly cloudy with low wind.

The GAO report also showed the $100-million-apiece F-35s are capable of performing missions just 55% of the time, and more than 10,000 of the aircraft have been grounded for repairs.
Well less than 1000 have been built, so this is wrong. Unless each plane is averaging over 10 groundings each.

The article is worded very poorly.
It's still a shitty excuse for a warplane.

F-22 is just too good at what it does. Nothing can even compete with it

Local residents said their wasn't any bad weather, just blue skies. Anyone got a way to call up weather reports from then? Or better yet, recorded radar?
Local residents are dumb.

Keeping military jets flying is costly and maintenance intensive. This article is basically clickbait.

Remember they discontinued production of the best fighter in the world…
Ummm, that would have been Congress that killed production of the F-22. The AF intended to keep purchasing them to fully replace the F-15C fleet. As a matter of fact, the Chief of Staff of the Air Force was fired for trying to stand up to the Secretary of the Air Force over this. The SECAF, SECDEF, and Congress were Hell bent on buying more ISR science projects for the counter-IED fight in Afghanistan and CSAF (Gen Michael Mosley) was adamant that we should be buying a future force (i.e. more F-22s) and fight the 3rd world assholes with what we already had. In the end, he got fired, we killed the F-22, and bought a whole bunch of crap that is now in the boneyard.
