They range from “stupid easy” to “oh frick I’m gonna die” hard. Especially the metal rides.

What. What?!? You mean to tell me there isn’t a massive demand for a stationary bike in the the $1,500 to $3,000 price range?

Peloton has essentially guessed wrong about how many people would be buying its products, after so much demand was pulled forward during the coronavirus pandemic. It’s now left with thousands of cycles and treadmills sitting in warehouses or on cargo ships, and it needs to reset its inventory levels.

Yeah, no shite.

Our reporting software can't even give us clean data every month. Yet these companies think in 10 years we will all be living the metaverse. No doubt it's coming, but the overestimation of automated systems continuously keeping us at home is, at best, an unrealized fantasy.

People in apartments don't want to be cooped up at home 24/7 going from an office chair to a stationary bike to a couch to a bed. And those who do want that aren't buying a multiple thousand dollar bike.

Did you cancel the order?

Yeah. After the first reschedule they refunded the delivery fee. After the 2nd one, I just cancelled. I had to send back the shoes, etc(which is another story). They refunded the full price including delivery fee again. So I made a $200-300 on the whole debacle.

After doing some research into Peloton and its competitors around the end of last year, I ended up going with the NordicTrack S22i. The main differences were that it has auto resistance, auto incline/decline, the swiveling screen, a built in fan - all of the features and then some of the Peloton Bike+ but for the same price as the original bike. The main factor that sold me on it was the focus on outdoor rides with a trainer. I love to cycle but there are always days when the weather sucks or something is off and I can't get out and do it. These outdoor rides are fantastic and challenging. The trainers are great at providing motivation and talking about the area you're riding through which is usually gorgeous, and the bike automatically adjusts resistance and incline/decline. The iFit plan was also just $119 for the year which I thought was a great deal compared to the Peloton, especially for a product with more to offer. It also has studio spin classes and other workouts that I haven't even tried yet because the outdoor rides are so much fun. Overall I'm very happy with it. Of course, they just released an updated version with better speakers and some other minor tweaks for $500 more than the one I just got. I'd probably still buy this one given the choice. This is a lot of bike for the money and I'm really glad I went this direction instead of the Peloton.

I’ve done a couple of classes with the new Irish dude. I like him.

Adrian for stretches is the best.

Robin arzon has some bad arse rides as does Kendall Toole.

As far as male cycling instructors my favorite is definitely Dennis Morton. Followed by Ben aldis, Alex Touissant (sp?), and Matt Wilpers. There was some other British dude I rode recently that I liked.

Ive been considering other bikes, but hadn't pulled the trigger. Maybe I need to look into it again.

The subscription without the bike is a pretty damn good deal if you are a runner and just want some functional strength classes + yoga.

it is pretty nice to be able to bang out brutal 30 minute workouts at home.

we have a quality spin bike and pay $12 a month for the app.

i laced up to run at lunch today and it was 15 with the wind chill and said eff that and did a 40 minute class.

the $2k+ bike is the ripoff part of it and then the more expensive subscription based off of that. the only thing it does that's unique is auto set the resistance based on the class. i just eyeball it and move mine to it.

Honestly most of them are fine I guess. I don't do Cody rides and I don't know how any guy would. Olivia et al get on my nerves with the motivation aspect but I know that's the core of it for a lot of folks.

I like to ride Olivia Amato, Arzon, Lovewell, Toole, and Tunde.

The last two especially he if I need to kick my own arse.

But I don’t want to get a boner on the bike, I need all the blood in my lungs, so I ride the guys too.

You are missing out. I know lots of straight guys that will do Cody rides because Cody is hilarious. Yes he is flaming gay but the guy will make you laugh out loud while you workout.

My wife follows several of the instructors in social media. I have no idea why. I could not care less about your backstory or currently what you are doing. I want instruction and encouragement.

It’s part of the reason I very much dislike Cody Rigsby’s ride classes.
