Wouldn't surprise me. Kids and teenagers are always crossing Jefferson Hwy from the apartments. Usually going to the park in Parkview.

there are 8 lanes of cars at that intersection, not including turning lanes. That's not a place you go walking across.

Shoot in 8th grade I was running across the 10 lane highway that bisected my town while on my way to baseball practice.

We all do stupid things that could have killed us at those ages
