Anything that shows continued demise and destruction of that shitty trashy water and amusement park with the associated clientele is reason for celebration if you live near there.

How long have you lived there? Blue Bayou has been around for a while.

More important is to fix that light cycle Coming out of the Home Depot at that light turning left into highland - the arrow goes from green to yellow before the first car even makes it thru

And more than any city I’ve lived in, Baton Rouge driver’s are always on their cell phones. I hated that light. Even if miraculously the driver in front of you was not reading their phone or taking a toke of their weed, only two cars could get through that light at best.

It’s St George. The city with rent a cops no public works but a high paid mayor and council. Any way to keep pulling the wool over their eyes they keep doing. Example A removing a painted pedestrian bridge that no one can see from their house……..it’s sad really. Wonder how much this is costing the settlement of St George tax payers……..

Well....what did people think the reason behind St. Georges formation was in the first place? Did some of you think it was out of the goodness of the councils heart? That there is NO WAY it would be exploited for personal gain? This is louisiana

To have an independent school district.

No. It was to fleece taxpayers in a higher tax bracket. This was just the cover.

You don’t want that rickety thing spanning Nicholson. It should have been condemned years ago.

Their original request was to form the Southeast BR School District which was everything between the 2 interstates up to the split. Then State Rep Sharon Weston Broome shot them down and said every other school district formed in the state was formed after the incorporation of city. The next week the same guys started the petition for the incorporation of St. George. They won in 2019 and were sued by none other than Sharon Weston Broome. She ultimately lost.

I'd put a few lol emojis behind this like you did but I actually know what I'm talking about so there's no need.

I worked on the design for that bridge foundation back in the late 90s for the owner of Dixie Landing. It served its purpose.

Only the 5th largest city in Louisiana minus a skanky foot bridge now.

Blue Bayou is a toilet bowl. Have fun soaking in it.

fricking this.

I don't know how much we spend on anything really around St George, but if we aren't investing in the greatest, state of the art, GOAT red light system, then we're fricking up.

Always awesome to catch the red light at Jefferson/Bluebonnet and sit there for the entire cycle - only to catch the one at Bluebonnet Road 100 yrds down the street.

The sequencing of red lights in EBR parish is coming any day now. We have voted and passed it twice in local elections for the MoveBR project. But rest assured just in case it’s not done by this fall election, it will on the ballot again and then it will definitely get done.

That's how it started then of course greedy shitheads took over the movement promising people some utopia that will "be run like a business" tag line. And for the record I live in St. George

I remember going over this as a kid and being so happy to be able to go to blue bayou. Then it got darker and darker. So much so that no one went there anymore. Yet another fun memory my children won’t be able to enjoy thanks to the darkness.
