That is just awful. Some engineer forgot to carry a 1 or misplaced a decimal point.
Or perhaps a crane helping to hold it in place had a failure of some kind?

Another before picture...
The bridge was designed by FIGG Bridge Engineers and built by MCM. Barnhart Crane and Rigging operated the Self-Propelled Modular Transporters that placed the bridge on its permanent supports.
It's safe to say these companies may not survive this catastrophe.

There were workers present at the time (on top of the bridge) as well based on the video.
