FWIW I just logged in online and closed my account in a matter of seconds.

No issues whatsoever.

The idea is that it would be used to punish people making “false claims” which would have a negative impact on PayPal’s business IIRC.

What kind of false claims? Like bad online reviews?

Does he need to though? Media isn't gonna hold him accountable for anything

The guy has about an 8th grade education level, is completely ignorant on every subject not pertaining to basketball, and faked a hate crime. On top of this, he seems like a terrible human being across the board. Treated like a god

You serious Clark? There are several ways to send money. Cash, checks, CC, bank transfers, zelle and others. I barely used PP and actually forgot I had it for a bit.

Canceled mine yesterday online. They must be overwhelmed cause it got caught in a sending me yet another code loop. But I got the Canceled email.

Was not able to remove my credit card info, but was able to close the account online.

It was possible to close it online before.

I closed mine ~3 years ago due to some fraud that happened, and there was no option to close it online. I had to do it via phone, and then there was some crazy waiting period before it was closed.

So the option to close online must have been somewhat new.

How else do you send money to people?

I vastly prefer Zelle because I can do it from my Chase banking app, and it goes directly into the person's checking account immediately. No middle man place.

Do both users have to bank with Chase for that? I have used Zelle in the past, but it was directly to someone else who also uses Chase.

I'll never understand why a business would want to make a political stand. If I'm running a big company I'm operating like Switzerland. Democrat and Republican money is green.

Same. So many companies have felt compelled the last 3+ years to tweet what their stance is on various shite that nobody was wanting to know.

"Coke wants you to know that it supports George Floyd!"

"Tide would like to announce a new detergent for Pro-choice families!"

Just stfu, nobody was at home wondering what their generic household brands thought about the political flavor of the day. It's hard to imagine that many CEOs are so tone-deaf.

I've always felt the same way about stand-up comics hitting partisan issues too hard. First, most of that shite isn't that funny, or it's low-hanging fruit that every late night show beats to death. Second, you immediately alienate half your audience...and then go back to my first point when the remaining audience members barely even chuckle. It's suicide.

No. Both users need to use banks that utilize Zelle. Which is pretty much all the big ones

I closed my Paypal acct Saturday. It was so easy that they didn’t even ask why. They probably knew the reason was “because GFY, that’s why.”
