I will buy a square on a football game if it helps a friend fund their kid’s activities. Or, buy a box of donuts if the kids are actively doing something to earn the sale.

My daughter is in dancing and the solicitation for ads in the Dance book should be a crime lol.

I will buy a square, 50/50 raffle, etc. every single time if a coworker or friend asks

I can see that. I'm talking straight asking for handouts.

Trash - pay your own way. More decline of America. Go fund me is trash also. Begging people for money that won’t go to necessities is trash.

My son's football team is required to submit something like 25 working emails of potential donors and then has a goal to raise. Then there is an app that sends out the fundraising emails and reports if the emails aren't good. If they meet that goal they get to go to to some team activity.

We just pay the goal amount. We use our work and personal emails and for the rest I just give friends and family a heads up that they will get a fundraising email and to just delete it.

You should counter by asking for equity in future revenues they generate.

My kids dance team doesn't just ask for money. There is always some raffle or giveaway. I suck at fundraising so I typically pay for it all.

My kids’ teams, high school and travel, do fundraising. One of the more popular fundraisers they now do is called vertical raise. It is simply begging for cash donations via email and social media. I will not participate. I will write the check myself. When they sell something in exchange for support (advertising, Boston butt, fruit, raffle, golf tournament, etc), I don’t love it, but will participate.
