Asking people to sponsor your kid's dance/cheer/baseball etc team because it's expensive is absolutely ludricous.

You made the decision to get into that racket, you pay for it.

You should be ashamed.

lol...who does this? Jesus, how embarrassing. Worse than the people who do a GoFundMe for their wedding.

Just a bunch of "momma bears" who just love their kid so much they will let the world pay for their crap.

Yeah, if your kid wants to earn it themselves have them wash cars or sell lemonade but just asking for handouts on Facebook is trashy.

Why are you dogging on these unofficial tax write-offs?

Some dude I know spammed every person in his contacts asking for donations for his daughter's soccer team

Dude is upper middle class and doesn't need to be begging for a handout

I pay thousands a year for my kids sports, not buying squares so you don’t have to

Agree.

Ours did raffles and we typically bought all the tickets our kid had to sell because we didn't want to ask/"beg" others to support what we allowed our kids to join. Sometimes they would work with a local restaurant and "work the tables" cleaning up and refiling drinks and would get tips plus 10% of sales during a specified time (typically non-waiter places like McCallister's/Pizza Hut). Of course all the family's would eat there that night and help the sales for the night.

I don't begrudge people that try and support their kids activities but would prefer you leave a box a "Worlds Best Chocolate" in the break room and let those that want some to buy/support. If it's a good raffle I'll buy some tickets just don't ask for donations.

Wtf

Is saying, "no" that difficult?

You must be a joy to be around.

My favorite are the homeschooling cohorts doing fundraisers to get others to pay for their kids’ education. If you wanted me to chip in for your kid to learn shite, you could send your kid to public school where some of my taxes go.

Try this:

Don’t donate.

I’ve been not donating for years and it’s been great.

unpopular opinion, but I don't mind this kind of thing.

I especially like the gift wrap fundraisers, bc the paper is vv nice and double sided
