The Z in the second time means "Zulu" which is Greenwich Mean Time, which is approximately 8 hours ahead of California time. Thus, it was 1:31 AM PT in the body cam

The only reasonable explanation is that the "attacker" didn't know it was the police, they open the door together, and he realizes he's about to be arrested so just says frick it and hits him?
