The balls it took to fly that recon mission. 710 mb can't be higher than a couple 1000 feet with flight level winds above 200 mph. It's about time we make a drone that can do that.

Given surface pressure, the 850mb level is nearly to the surface and 710mb is probably 10,000ish ft

I can honestly say if that thing was barreling towards Louisiana coast I'm evacuating living in Baton Rouge area.

Any chance she rebounds off the coast? The S into the E is really blowing up as the outflow really runs up into the mountains.

Yeah the dude just picked up the camera and walked around for second before he put it back. He must see the number of people streaming and wanted to give us a better look. Winds and surf are starting to pick up a little bit.

It's weird how those waves don't look like much at all. I was in Gulf Shores the day before Katrina, and it was insane compared to that.
