You probably one of those doctors that give a prostate exam when the patient came in for tonsillitis. I haven't been to a doctor in 15 years. I can't stand the long waits, I have to be in serious pain to get felt up by someone who won't give me a happy ending.

He tried. What do you think the prostate exam was for?!

You should see how I react when I get a shot. Last time I asked to be restrained because I can't help how I will react.

Needles are my biggest phobia. I have litterally ran out of doctors offices before.

I'll probably die in ten years or so because I haven't had a tetnus shot since 1998 and I get cut all the time.

frick a shot.

Someone asked what if someone you love needs bone marrow?

I said I would chop off a finger and give them that.

Oddly pain, cuts and burns don't really bother me. Nor do shots in the mouth. But go to put a needle in my arm and I am going to react badly.

You try a cortisone shot? I had a pretty bad attack in my ankle... got a cortisone shot in the arse and within a couple of hours it was gone.

fricking this.

Blame it on 2 things other than the MD:
1) BIG govt. that wants to play Dr.
2) Junkies who think they are smarter than a real MD

Take back the power of govt over our lives and allow Dr.'s to use their skills and cut through the BS to where your MD can go, "oh, again, here take this like last time, get well soon! bye."

Sorry, your screams when I barely touch your skin where you say you have pain will not make it more likely you get OxyContin

ER docs are good at not overprescribing opiates. They are definitely not part of the problem.

Why ask what level is your pain? Pretty sure with most people it's obvious when they are truly in pain.

. One ole baw went in our group who I had seen motivating around the waiting room pretty well. As we got further down the hall, his limp became more and more pronounced, until when he got to his room it looked like he could hardly walk at all.

I'm always in pain at work and at home. The minute I walk into a doctor's office I am suddenly healed

It's clear you got into the wrong profession if you came here to gripe about your (overpaid) job.

Which wouldn't be happening half as often if TBTB would stop being greedy control freaks & allow God-given cannabis to treat mild to moderate pain. Do you even Genesis 1:11 bro?

Going against The Almighty himself SMH a lot of "leaders" will be getting the wrath for that sadism.

The opioid receptor is a tricky mechanism. It gets its hooks in you like a fish. So stop taking it? No viable alternative in the south. Chronic pain is a life of misery down here in this part of the "land of the free"

Sorry I sound so emotional but idk how many times I've had to go home and suffer because some dude wrote me a script for naproxen and allopurinol. Like I don't already have the allopurinol and like Alieve is going to remotely touch gout pain.
I'm sure you know this already, but the allopurinol is just a prophylactic to decrease the number of gout attacks and doesn't really do much during a flare. Opiates are effective for pain, but they don't do anything about the inflammation, which is the major issue with gout. Have you tried colchicine instead of or in addition to the nsaid?

To the OP. I know you think you're just ranting on a random message board, but posts like this make it harder for the rest of us. You have to realize that people have legit pain complaints and not everybody is just looking for a script. If you're unsure, it's very easy to find out if someone has been doctor shopping for opiates, because all controlled drug prescriptions are tracked online. Even if they are just trying to scam an rx for OxyContin, try talking to them about your suspicion that they may have an opiate addiction and offer help. Acting like a passive-agressive twat is probably the worst thing you can do in that situation. shite like this post is not helpful and only serves to worsen the rift between patients and physicians that is getting worse and worse all the time.

A junkie is exactly how I was treated by two different doctors in two different offices when I had a cervical nerve root compression. That-will-never-happen-again!
