So the guy causing the wreck isn't at fault because he lived to tell this lie????

Go figure. Now I can't say how you see it in Bizarro-jacked-up-jeep-world where legal turns into neighborhoods are "dangerous maneuvers".

Damn, u mad.

It seems the guy driving the other vehicle pulled off the pass and you are just jelly.

You are an absolute idiot....

You are trying WAY too hard, bro. It's almost like it was you or something. Just admit that you are an insufferable douche that drives a jacked-up cartoon-jeep to compensate for your tiny little dick and move on before that last oz of credibility evaporates.... ooops too late...

Carry on shitstain...

I am an insufferable douche for many reasons, and my dick has been small no matter what vehicle I drive

Really though, you were in South Livingston parish. It is a shithole, and the people who live there are just as shitty, this stuff happens all the time. It's the tradeoff for moving out of BR, you move out of civilization.

I see now that people are losing the ability to think critically. Not to mention the death of reading comprehension. I blame Obama.

Completely wrong. You can't pass a car on a 2 lane road with their left turn signal on. This scares me that so many in this thread think there is nothing wrong with passing a car like that.

Was in a 4 car pileup due to this. The idiot that passed on the left kept driving.

This has come up before and a cop chimed in. Turning left vehicle is at fault (on a road that allows passing). The passer has the right of way. The person turning left has to make sure the lane is free BOTH directions. It is definitely weird, but look at it from the passers point of view. Some jackleg turns left out out of know where after you are in the left lane and you t-bone him.

Just because your blinker is on doesn't mean he has to slow down for you.

And you better be checking your blind spots all the time, you made it seem like that's not a regular thing.

Don't drive angry

He was probably already passing you before you threw on the blinker

2 lane highway dumbass. The left lane of a 2 lane highway is not a "passing lane". Passing is allowed but only if the lane is clear of any oncoming or turning traffic. If you hit someone passing in a 2 lane road it is your fault 99% of the time because it is your responsibility to make sure the lane is clear.

100% wrong! Had a guy hit my friend when he passed a guy. The other guy was at fault according to the state trooper.

Not really true, only common sense. The passer has the right of way. A left turn on a 2 lane hwy is considered an evasive move with or without your blinker.

You would not be turning left "out of nowhere" though if your blinker is on and you are dramatically slowing down. The passer has to know not to pass in that scenario.

But that dies not always happen, so there has to be a standard. Some dude could slam his breaks and turn left. You can't blame fault on what may have happend, but who has the right of way.

Who is to say that the left lane passer wasn't already in the left lane when the guy in the right lane turned his blinker on and then turned left and then boom the wreck happens. In this situation the left lane passer already started passing.

I used to think the left lane passer was in the wrong also until I amost got hit like this once and looked it up. As it turns out, the guy making the left turn must make sure the lane he his crossing over is clear in both directions before making the left turn bc passing is allowed and it's perfectly legal for the left lane passer to be in the left lane. Think about it. Don't have the link bc I'm on mobile.

Makes you realize how dangerous turning left is on back roads, but that's the law. This is only true when in a passing zone of course.

I think the lack of this info in the OP is what has caused the main conflict in this thread.
