They'll shave that building back to salvage it, and build from there. I don't think they'll completely demolish it.

I'm no expert, but I'd bet money that it will be demolished to the ground.

Why should hard rock not be able to walk away?

They will definitely walk away but I am sure they will file a suit based on how this has affected their image. The headlines aren't' "Kailas Hotel collapse" it is "Hardrock Hotel collapse" nearly everywhere you look.

Not to mention they’ve probably issued PO’s (at a minimum) for furniture, fixtures, signage, etc

That’s not even discussing the issue that Hard Rock could walk away from this thing completely

Could? I believe we saw the first 100 yards run in record time with last weeks press release

They are trying to build a hotel in the old State Palace across the street. As the current project is never going to be built I could see Hard Rock jumping in there as the old facade they are going to save would look awesome on a Hard Rock. As it is out of the same zoning area they could also build taller.

Ok, I thought someone was saying they shouldn't be able to just walk away and should be liable which is asinine.

Yes they should be eligible for damages I agree. I hope hardrock are the ones that get the kailas' family houses

let’s say they did do all the engineering and whatnot to bring the cranes down without input or agreement from citadel. And let’s say it doesn’t go well and causes further damage If you were citadel (and their lawyers), wouldn’t you then take the position that the damage and liability for that damage falls on others?

Citadel is probably going to be released from the job, and the holder of the performance bond or the insurance company will be hiring the next contractor to complete the job.

I wouldn't trust any part of the design above the parking garage, and would even question the parking garage design. Relying on load bearing walls to achieve the allowable unshored span length of the composite metal deck when the walls will not be built until after all the structural frame/slabs are in place is a design disaster. Even with the temporary shoring the slabs were deflecting past typical allowable dead/live load deflections with just self-weight and light construction loads. While all responsibility is typically on the contractor to handle temporary bracing/shoring conditions until the permanent elements are in place, this design is almost not constructible.

The kailas are going to get personal suits bra, their personal wealth is vulnerable.

Why do you think the oxycontin family moved their personal wealth for 2 years when they knew the suits were coming.

Hardrock had no ownership in project above poster, go home

Ummm...no

Kailas ownes the site and hired the contractor. Hard rock is only an operator in this deal.

They don't own it. Just like how our president doesn't own every building with his name on it.
