re: Hard Rock Hotel Collapse Followup

I haven't heard much new info but the last I heard the contractors were scrambling to pin it on the engineers. I am curious who they had running the site because many of their best guys were in Puerto Rico and the virgin islands running the restoration jobs.

Genuinely asking here but what would happen when a sub goes to the contractor saying that the building was compromised and then gets fired? Would the contractor knowing that the engineering was subpar put them at fault?

Paying off the governor, overcharging taxpayers, hiring anyone they can find off the streets, lobbying for more funds for unnecessary changes.

These contractors do not have their own engineers who are checking up on the project? Not saying they weren't at fault but their job wasn't exactly made all that easy by the demands of the owners.

Well let him know that he needs to think of a better idea than blaming the engineers. Maybe he could chime in on how the job in Puerto Rico is going.

Right on. They are going to first try and pin everything on the engineers and if that does not work, expect Kailas to attempt to crawfish and leave everyone else in the smoke.

Probably the same guys who used this FEMA bloke as a patsy. I am telling you the rabbit trail on this thing goes all the way to China (Puerto Rico).

"Praveen Kailas and his brother Naveen are no longer partners in the development, known as 1031 Canal Development LLC. It’s a partnership between Mohan Kailas; Denzel Clark, president of the prime contractor on the project, Citadel Builders; and Todd Trosclair of All-Star Electric."

They will definitely walk away but I am sure they will file a suit based on how this has affected their image. The headlines aren't' "Kailas Hotel collapse" it is "Hardrock Hotel collapse" nearly everywhere you look.

Hard rock might end up suing the developers.

I drove by canal yesterday and the pictures do not even do it justice.
The problem is that this will be tough to pin on only one person and if you follow the rabbit trail of incompetence it takes you down a pretty far hole. Some of the owners are tied to restoration projects all around the country and the corruption involved with some of those projects would make the Clintons look silky smooth. I have a hard time believing it will get that far because of what type of people involved but it would make for an interesting documentary.
