OSHA with NOPD handling the investigation. NOPD is investigating due to the unclassified deaths.

The zones take out a large business area. I imagine that the traffic is horrendous.

If they find the GC negligent, the powers at be will serve serious jail time.

I would like to check into the Ritz Carlton with all of my luggage please. Sorry you aren't allowed anywhere near the building so please carry your luggage to a restaurant or bar and come back in 6 hours.

There are a lot of Hotels located in the exclusion zone.

One question I have though is how are restaurants cooking today since Entergy turned the gas off?

The firm that filed the lawsuit alleges the building collapsed due to poor workmanship, poor quality materials,
thats typical when you use illegal workers.

A co-worker of mine has a good friend of his "in-the-know" who said that holes were drilled in the post/pre-tensioned concrete (not sure what the difference is or what was used here) to install plumbing and that some of the cables in the concrete were severed as as result causing the slabs to sag???

Nobody is core drilling a post tensioned slab without Xraying the slab to find the cables.

I guess some people could, but theyd be idiots with a death wish.

what idiot would pour then drill rather than placing a conduit or a blockout.

IDK I was just passing along hearsay. Apparently it isn't true though, but to your question, if there was a last minute change, (which is common) it may call for drilling a slab.

October weekends are huge in the city. Next weekend will be bigger with both a Saints game and halloween weekend, but this would normally have a lot of people staying downtown as well.

Krewe of Boo tomorrow night. I guess we will go catch it near the start so I can stay the hell away from downtown.
