If the plan was for cranes to end up dangling off the top of the hotel and fall into the street, they would have said so. Anyone that says otherwise is spinning. You don't have to be an engineer to trust your own eyes.

what I meant was that the demo contractor is responsible for getting those cranes in the scrap pile one way or another for their 5MM
they knew they’d be working on this a while longer

I wonder what the "regular" rate would be for that kind of job, as opposed to this one
There's profit in chaos.

I have to believe that griffiths contract states that the cranes will be on the ground.
I’m curious to how they handled verbiage pertaining to consequential damages such as a 20’ hole in Rampart Street with drainage, UG utilities, etc to repair.
The existing condition is certain to cost a helluva lot more money to some party. Surely they excluded all consequential damages with respect to adjacent structures. If so, the GC/ developer is still on the hook to pay for all additional costs IMO.

I would bet it excludes any and all collateral damage.
That "hold harmless" provision is probably 10 pages long

No other buildings were hit or dropped due to crashing debris / shaking.
That's a win.
This didn't go according to plan, but this could have been a hell of a lot worse.

I hear you bro. I wasn’t disputing your comment. You obviously know much more about this situation than I do

Fill us in on how we are safer now and how the sewer line collapsed.

S&WB is re-routing the sewer lines in an area already screwed with flooding.

yes you would think they would have insisted on being held harmless for any damages in and around the site. That’s the only way anyone would agree to do what they just did
they have those frames cut up and stacked fairly quickly. the city will have to get in line to get their own bills reimbursed by the developers
