What about Where to eat? Was thinking of eating in Metairie or Kenner to avoid the big crowds before the show. From what I remember before, not many places to eat within walking distance of SKC. Anywhere good in Metairie or Kenner we could hit up around 4:30 to 5?

I don’t do New Orleans very often so I am completely unfamiliar with the area.
You should go ahead and make sure your will is in order and your premiums are paid up.

Check some of the places on Metairie Road near Bonnabel (like Brasa, but there's a bunch of restaurants around there.)

I and my date were the youngest people there. We got hushed by the old folks for singing along with "Fire and Rain".
Counterpoint: we have this baw planning his parking way in advance and plotting dinner in Kenner at 430 all to avoid crowds fro the concert.
Wait. Nevermind.
How many songs in do you think he suggests leaving to avoid traffic at the end of the show?

We left as soon as we heard the two songs we knew. The whole show was a strange tribute to James Taylor, but he's still alive. Huge video screens playing clips of him from the younger days. I felt like we were watching one of those memorial videos at a funeral.

Well, we definitely know more than 2 James Taylor songs so we will just try and enjoy it. The last concert we saw was Dolly Parton and believe it or not, we are not even 40.

I 100% agree with this comment after going to see him in Baton Rouge. At 40 years old, I and my date were the youngest people there. We got hushed by the old folks for singing along with "Fire and Rain".
I won tickets in a 96.1 the River contest to see James Taylor when I was a kid back around 2002 and I thought it was a good concert. I saw him again in Baton Rouge around 2016 and it was boring as sin. The Centroplex was full at the start but was 3/4 empty by the end. I obviously wasn’t the only person who thought it was boring.

If you’re familiar with his music then you already should know it’s gonna be boring

Parking near Smoothie King Center
Just get an Uber

I’ve never had a problem parking in the Superdome garages for stuff at the arena. No problems getting out either.

Now that I don’t live there Ill share my secret. If I was driving and not Uber or taking street car I’d just Valet at the Hyatt. Only a few more $ than garages. Hit the restaurant for a few drinks then walk over.

There’s several lots around energy centre and 909 poydras - corner of rampart and Loyola, okeefe and Loyola etc. all give you easy access out of there

We always park at one of the lots on S. Rampart when we go to the Pels games.
