I could see those long shirts on kids at the beach also helping to protect them from jelly fish stings as well on their arms/back

You want to keep reapplying sunscreen on a little kid all day?

I do belive the long sleeves are kinda crossing the line. But when my son was younger, at the beach or at the pool, he would be hunched over playing in the sand, and convencing people he wasnt dead wasnt uncommon because he spent 75% of the time floating on his belly with his face in the water. No amount of sun screen would keep that babies back ftom getting burnt, do we got a short sleeve swim shirt.

You wear a hat when the sun is out, so why cant a kid? Swim caps are stupid though, unless your a serious swimmer.

Lil Tbone has the completion of Ed Sheehan, so yeah his ginger arse wears long sleeves. My daughter on the other hand has my coonass skin, stays pretty much tanned all year round and just does sunscreen.

OP you are trying way too hard. Judging a parent's choice to protect their child from too much sun exposure seems like such a stupid thing to concern yourself with.

My 3 year old wears one usually. But he just plays in splash pad type pools. By the time he get's swimming lessons, I don't see forcing him to wear it.

But hell, I wear a long sleeve shirt of that material when I don't want to get sunburnt. When I'm in the water or trying to get sun, I don't wear it. But if I'm just hanging out, I'd rather put that on than sunscreen. By the end of a beach vacation, I've had enough sun and those shirts stay on. I'm to drunk to remember to re-apply lotion.

My niece is albino. If she's exposed to the sun for more than 10 minutes without protection, she'll burn. Sunscreen just doesn't always cut it.

I guess it's better than looking like a ninja coming out of the water about to use some throwing stars...

I don’t remember any of the kids needing that pussy shite when we played out in the sun all day in the 90s.

On a serious note, we sometimes put the kid in the sun protective clothing to avoid having to reslather sunscreen on her. Putting sunscreen on a toddler isn't as much fun as relaxing on the beach drinking beer. I guess I'm just lazy. Fat too. Lazy and fat, but my kid won't get skin cancer. Not on my watch.

Amen. My daughter was easy to put sunscreen on. She didn't mind the spray kind. Wife would load her up before we hit the beach or pool, and one of us would reapply every couple of hours if we were out there that long. My son on the other hand will freak out if he even sees the can of spray sunscreen. We have to use lotions which get everything messy, or those sticks and they're really waxy and you can't tell if it got everywhere. I put a shirt on him so all I have to apply is on his face/neck and forearms. Someone pass me a beer.

So you agree that they need protection from the sun....but you don't agree with the method that is simplest and easiest...gotcha

There are two kind of shirts being discussed here: sun shirts to block the sun's harmful rays, and fat shirts to block on-looker's harmful views of fat-arse boy-tits.

It's always laugh at the fat kid.

we do it for one of my kids as he has eczema and the sun tends to aggrivate it and he burns easily with even 70 on. My two other boys dont have to wear that shite. Middle only wears it if he will be outside all day.

Personally don't care if you have a problem with it, would rather him wear that then be in pain the next three days.
