Don't really have much to say about this. Just that it's an infuriating and sad case.

The parents of a woman who prosecutors say died covered in human waste and maggots after sitting fused to a couch for years plan to plead guilty to manslaughter on Monday, 20th Judicial District Court District Attorney Sam D'Aquilla said Thursday afternoon.
Lacey Fletcher, 36, was found dead Jan. 3, 2022, in her family’s home in Slaughter. She was sunken into a waste-filled crater in her family’s living room couch, covered in maggots and sores, had several ulcers on her underside and fecal matter crushed into her face, chest and abdomen, according to authorities.
Clay and Sheila Fletcher, Lacey Fletcher's parents, were originally arrested and indicted on second-degree murder charges in May 2022 in their daughter's death.
A judge later tossed the charges after their attorneys raised questions about defective language in the charging affidavits. An East Feliciana Parish grand jury re-indicted the parents in June 2023.
The Fletchers initially maintained their innocence, insisting their daughter was "of sound mind" and chose to not leave the living room. They claimed they brought her food and set up a potty, but she was afraid to leave the couch.

When Lacey was found in her family’s Slaughter home, she was stuck inside a waste-filled crater in the couch — with the local medical examiner describing her as having “melted” into the piece of furniture.
She was covered in maggots and sores, had ulcers on her underside and fecal matter on her face, chest and abdomen, officials said.
Her parents have maintained their innocence, claiming Lacey was “of sound mind” and refused to leave the living room, where they said they brought her meals and set up a potty.
Authorities said the woman was diagnosed with social anxiety and had a history of severe Asperger’s syndrome, a form of autism spectrum disorder, which leaves people with maladjusted social skills.
Lacey may have sat in her own filth for about 12 years, the coroner said.
She weighed a skeletal 96 pounds and also tested positive for COVID-19 after she was found.

They just had to throw in the "was also found positive for Covid-19" like if that is what caused this.
What a bunch of shitty parents. RIP
Also, I seriously just don't understand the neglect here. How does this happen? Surely the house smells horribly, this is just wild as hell.

this case was discussed on this page previously
That poor woman, Im happy that she is finally at peace and it would be unChristian of me to share what I think should be done to the sub-humans that called themselves parents

How the frick did they just go about their daily lives with the stench of piss and shite hovering throughout the house?

This is what I'm saying. There is no way they could've never known their daughter was melting into a feces ridden couch, better yet not do anything about it. Jesus, I seriously cannot believe some people have brains.

they should have left the coach and chained the parents to it as punishment

The kid and the parents obviously had mental health problems. She probably should've been taken from her parents long ago.

I remember when this first came to light, a whole bunch of Slaughter residents were on FB saying how that couldn't be true, how they were pillars of the community and their church and blah blah blah.
They need to die in jail.
If I was king, they'd be dead already.

Apparently the daughter died while the parents were out of town for a week. Prior to that, did the parents take care of her? They had to have...there is no way they could have lived in that stench.

He ate, slept, pissed, and shitted in that chair for 8 months.
How does that even work? Did someone feed him? The pissing, okay it evaporates, but how does the solid waste not...back up? It has no place to go. I don't get it
