I did a quick search for "overserving alcohol lawsuit" and I see news articles about holding bars/restaurants liable for fights, car accidents, and poisonings due to overserving alcohol, as well as lawyer websites egging it on and insurance companies offering coverage for it.
I'm not saying I agree with it, but the answer to your question is yes.

They have big warning signs up at the drive thru window at Panera about how much caffeine is in these things, especially after that girl at the Ivy League school died from one.
