I love PCB and stay west of Pier Park, almost to Sunnyside, 15-20 minutes from 30A.
It’s quiet. Beautiful water, and our room is a 3-minute elevator ride/walk to the shore.
Lately, we only go out to eat 4-5 times per trip, limiting our exposure to trash.
I would never go there on spring break though.
Pier Park has gotten really annoying over the years though. Mostly due to (I think) locals driving there shitty loud/squatted trucks up and down the area as loud as they can possibly get them.

Did you never do a spring break trip as a college student? Everyone squeeze in one car to drive to the destination. Then everyone stays in the same room to split the fare like 6-8 ways.
Not me though, as I've always tipped pretty well, even in college.

That’s funny. The guy I always rode down with had an 86 Mustang 5.0 as well. We never did less then 95, weaving in and out of lanes. I am now the guy who stays 10 car lengths behind and goes about 7 over the limit and grumbles at the people who drive like maniacs with reckless abandon.

PCB "needs" spring break more than Miami

American society is straight trash these days. You are going to find it anywhere you go.

And people throw fits because the 30a area jacks prices up and enforces rules .
Also Well Well Well
Also Well Well Well

Panama City was trashy in the 1970’s.

Weak leadership is the issue.

And weak parents letting kids raise themselves.

Haven't been since spring break 99. I was 17 and it was a shite show and I knew then I'd never care to go back.

April 7-April 11 2025 was Atlanta’s spring break week. It’s been notoriously bad along the emerald coast from PCB to Pensacola Beach for a high crime week the past 10 years.

I used to go there with some buddies back in the 70's, and it was always a blast. Beer, beaches, girls from everywhere, and almost no crime. Nothing but fun.
From the videos I've seen, it appears the demographics have changed entirely. That's too bad.

If Disney would double their prices, I'd take the girls again.
Same with Southwest.
That, and if SW wouldn't let 58 people preboard on every effin' flight.

Those aren’t locals for the most part and the main road in pier park is closed to vehicle traffic during vacation months for that reason.

We have a place in PCB, and were there last week. I can promise you that the St. Andrews end is quiet and safe. It’s the old school PCB trash, if you will… most people where we are have been coming for decades and like to fish. We don’t go to Pier Park or do any of that stuff anymore. We stick to our side or St. Andrews.
The giant monolithic “Wharf” condos by Pineapple Willy’s is a huge problem. They can’t fill those rooms… there are too many, and it’s not even on the beach, so they market to urban clientele. The beach there cannot support that many humans in one spot, cannot imagine what it’s like when it’s busy. They have permanent police cameras setup, and they now have traffic cones to force traffic, with police officers posted to enforce it. I drove thru to see for myself, and I can confirm I didn’t see one white person at all, and there were hundreds of people “just walking around.”

This is accurate and it’s become openly hostile between the local governments, sherriff departments and these “visitors”.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a public press conference calling people trash before but having been in the area the day of the shooting for a wine festival trash is a generous way to describe the people who were down that week.
PCB Police: “Trash gang members from Dothan Did This… Don’t Come Back”
Rude, hostile and looking for an excuse to cause violence is the only way I can describe some of the groups I saw driving around, but like certain events in other places it’s only that one week and other weeks are as safe as anywhere in the country.
No one from the cities to the other tourists to law enforcement want them there but short of pricing out the working and middle class people who visit the east side of PCB it’s difficult to force them not to come so the areas can only make it clear they aren’t wanted there… which I promise you in one of the reddest areas of the country they are not.
