A lawsuit filed Monday (July 11) by Triple S Mart owner Abdullah Muhlafi claims Baton Rouge Police officers quickly took his store's surveillance video and his cell phone before locking him up inside a car for hours after Alton Sterling was fatally shot.
quote:

The Daily Beast reports officers Howie Lake II and Blane Salamoni had two more officers arrive to the scene to take Muhlafi's "entire store security system" before they detained him. The suit claims Lt. Robert Cook and Officer Timothy Ballard also took his cellphone, which had video footage of the 37-year-old's fatal altercation with police, before they put Muhlafi in the back of a police car for four hours. The suit stated he was only released to use the restroom. "He was escorted to the side of his building and forced to relieve himself right there within arm distance of a BPRD officer and in full view of the public," according to the lawsuit.

He might not want them digging into his operation. Considering selling CDs is a front for drugs.

I don't know. The surveillance video is some shady shite, and I've had some direct experience with cops doing something similar.

That's a public exposure charge... send him to jail and make him register as a sex offender.

Commissioner Quintillis Lawrence signed the search warrant, according to the return that shows police seized video surveillance equipment from the store. The warrant was signed at 5:23 a.m. the day Sterling was shot, with the search executed thirty minutes later, the paperwork states.
...

This this is why he wasn't allowed back in the store. They considered it as part of the crime scene. Dumb frick.

Yea this was not smart for that guy. He might get slapped with some RICO case for running a drug ring.

They also need to look at whether he is doing SNAP fraud - buying credits for cash. That is a big thing for middle easterners running c-stores.

That's a very good way to get slow police response time if and when his store is getting robbed.
