Some pretty big assumptions are being made in this thread.

Someone needs to open an actual French Quarter in a new state.. complete with NOLA ex-pats.

Yeah, crazy he didn't hide behind an anonymous message board talking shite and instead took to the Time Picayune to speak his part and try to reason with Latoya.

Pathetic that he “had to walk the line” to “not be a target.”

Waaay too many assumptions being made in this thread.

So you Know Eric Cook personally?

When I bought my office I signed up with entergy and put it on auto draft. I have hundreds of transactions each month and only really review them every so often. One day I was curious what my electric bill was averaging so I logged into Entergy and there was no bill. No prior bills, no bills due. I called and they had no idea what was going on. Eventually they told me that they just forgot to add me to list to have someone go read my meter and sent me 6 months worth of charges. So I can believe him

I feel for him...but did he never receive a bill? Was his bill ridiculously low for a retail/restaurant?

I get it. Entergy has not acquitted itself well of late, but something isn't quite right with this story.

And if you're going to discuss the city administration, be detailed - crime, corruption, bureaucracy and predatory fees.

That said, Godspeed, sir.

Just curious, have you been to this spot or to his other restaurant? I’m guessing not because his menu is pretty solid. It’s not a top 10 menu but it hits hard for its price point. It’s also next to cane and table which hits real hard and Dian Xn which is one of the best Asian restaurants in the city. Pretty terrible take on your part to knock the menu/restaurant vs the situation his business was put in, whether his fault or not I’ll put that aside. Cook has been a solid guy for a long time. We’ve been to Gris Gris probably 25-30 times and never had a negative thing to say about our experience. St John’s I think twice or three times and again nothing bad to say. He pushes his team to be as consistent as possible and it’s notable given his restaurants are pretty packed.

how do you know he didn't? you all toss that statement out thinking it is some kind of gotcha. sad thing is, most that have this shite put on them likely didn't vote for the current administration, but got stuck with it by those that did. you can't paint every resident of NO with a broad brush

Over 80% voted Hillary and Biden.

You can.

By assuming:

1. He received PPP
2. That he misused the money
3. The money he supposedly owes Entergy is legitimate
4. That a government program from 3-4 years ago has anything to do with today.

And that’s just for starters

I know Eric and his entire family. He’s a great guy and has come a long way over the years. They’ll still have Gris Gris on Magazine. NOLA could still be a great town, but it can’t get out of its own way because they keep letting the insane run the asylum.

It's a shame and a pure reflection of the elected folks (it would be an embarrassment to call them officials).

Not only is St. John's a great restaurant and so is its sister restaurant Gris-Gris. Great cocktails and menu selections. Have stopped at both on my visits to "NO"LA and highly satisfied!
