F'in Karnataka. I have been in many places in that state. Played a few rounds of golf there too. I shanked a ball and started into the rough to play my second and my caddie stopped me: "Sir NO!, snake" I looked and saw my first cobra in real life.
I took a drop on the edge of the fairway without taking the penalty. Not sure I scored it properly but I wasn't able to play me ball due to an unnatural obstruction.

Like it’s reaction was something you can understand with ontological certitude.
You sound big mad

You should've checked the course rules. It's like that guy a few years ago in a PGA tournament that grounded his club a couple of times in a hazard, but he never read the course rules and wasn't aware it was a hazard and he got dinged for like 2 or 3 strokes, appealed, and was told to go pound sand (but make sure you score 1 every time you do).
Snakes are definitely a hazard, and you may have defiled the gentlemanly game of golf by your failure to properly score a drop away from a hazard.

This would make a good voice over video.

Met a dude once at work. Pre procedure medical history entered. He worked for one of the big boys in oil and gas and was “back home in the states” I said cool, “get to travel anywhere great?”
“Nope. We are building a refinery in a swamp in Kenya or Nigeria (I can’t recall).” Everytime they moved a crate or large equipment a cobra ran out. Had monthly safety meeting. For the local contractors. “Please don’t kill and take the cobras home!”

Yeah, frick tailing a 12-14 ft. snake. 4-6 ft. is good tailing length. I’ll tail a 2 - 2.5 ft. cottonmouth if he’s getting away, but I won’t be happy about it. Short snakes can turn around on you too easily, just like really long ones. I rather see them square up so I can grab the biting end, not the arse end.

I think the largest king on record was like 18 ft....I don't think 12-14 is out of the question at all.
Not out of the question in terms of potential, but that thing would have been a bit thicker if it was in the 12-14 ft range.
I’d guess that one was right at about 9-10 ft. Those things get fricking SWOLE after that point.
Source: All of Dingo Dinkelman’s King Cobra videos on YouTube. Dude has two in that 12-14 ft range, and they sit higher than that one did when hooded, and are much more thicc.

Go to youtube and find "Chandlers' Wild Life". He has a couple of king cobras that he takes out of their cages regularly. They are huge.

Chandler has a video where his buddy describes surviving a king cobra bite after an accident handling one of them.
shite is nuts. Had a piece of fang still in him after he recovered but was still in hospital. Nurse tried to remove it and there was venom still in it and it re-envenomated him.
