Outdoor kitchen and living space pics/ideas/suggestions

I know this may sound dumb, but do they make appliances specifically for outdoor use? Are indoor appliances able to withstand large temp fluctuations and precipitation in that type of environment.

Personally, that would be my first concern.

They do make outdoor specific appliances, but they will eventually go out like anything else, and for the extra money, IMO you're better off going with the cheaper ones and replace as needed.

As far as closing it in, are bugs an issue if you sit our there now. Nothing sucks worse then trying to enjoy your outdoor area you spent a ton of money on, just to get carried away by flies or mosquitos. I screened in my patio because I couldn't eat outside without being swarmed.

Other then that a tv is nice, fans are nice, a fire feature is real nice, and speakers for music are nice. I skipped a built in grill and bought a kamado Joe for the same amount of money and had a spot built to hold it. I prefer a Kamado because you can grill, bake, or smoke in it as opposed to just grilling on a gas grill.

It's not. It was $250k. The glass in his firepit was individually mouth blown by the finest glass blowers in Venice.

Not sure of the cost, but would estimate in the $75K to $100K range

You remember how long it took to complete?

We are actually planning ours out right now. Think about what you need. We are creating an "L" shaped bar. One side is the hot zone (with the gas grill and BGE). The other side is the cool zone, which will have a fridge and possible kegerator. That side will also have an elevated counter for barstool seating. We aren't doing a sink because I don't think I'd use it enough to warrant the cost to run water and drain lines out there.

2 seating areas and a TV (already have speakers wired out there) will round it out. There are TVs designed for outdoors, but they are MUCH more expensive and not worth the cost from what I have read. Just buy a cheapish TV and replace when it dies. In our area, it's more of the condensation from humidity that hurts the TVs than the heat.
