I'm just curious, but I thought psychopath and sociopath were synonyms with both representing characteristics of the formal diagnosis of "Antisocial Personality Disorder" or "Conduct Disorder" for younger individuals.

The details I heard from the Duncan person who knew the family are this. They said that the boy had stolen from the Grandparents somewhere around 70K. The 5K credit card deal was an attempt by the Father to teach the boy a lesson.
The family was last seen last Thursday. As you all know, last week was OU/tx. The rumor is the kid took the parents reservations at the Ritz Carlton and their game tickets and went about the weekend like nothing happened.
He went back to Norman and to the dorm like nothing ever happened.

I don't know enough about psychology to know what to label him other than a pussy couldn't be accountable for his actions. Now the state of Oklahoma is chomping at the bit to teach him a lesson and to put another white boy on their murder rolls. Oklahoma probably executes more white males than any other state. fwiw.
