So in an effort to make Sullivan's attractive to buyers, they killed the brand's value...Brilliant

They made a lot of changes across the ~15 Sullivans left in the country. Ended Ringside (besides Friday before home games), stopped most advertising, stopped most charity work, etc.

Back in the day you had Clicks, Sullivan’s, Poets, Hooters, and Nightlife. That area was a mini entertainment complex in early 2000’s.

I used to frequent the bar at Sullivan's and Fox in the Hound. It's been years since I've been in that shopping center outside of eating lunch at Firehouse once or twice.

The talent at Fox was always underrated too. They always had a couple hot women working there.

I can guarantee you the BS that people were alluding to were not the reasons he got fired.

He got fired because he was the highest paid GM in the company (after getting a raise to be the GM at Del's Dallas 10 yrs ago then another large raise when he became regional manager) and they are cutting costs of the Sullivan's brand in order to sell all the Sullivans.

Thanks. I figured someone who knew what's what would crop up in here. You sound like that guy (or gal, whatever).

I did not realize Sullivans was even a franchise. BR trying to do a restaurant is so adorable.

Guy, fwiw.

No problem, it was a few ex employees, that were fired for various reasons, passing the rumors on why he was fired with NO knowledge of why

Not a franchise either. They are all corporately owned. They are currently part of the Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group our of Dallas, which broke off of Lone Star. They started sinking all their money into the Del Grilles and started losing their arse on them.

So basically, on one of the most visible shopping centers in Baton Rouge, you have Sullivan’s and Hooters. That shopping center is an eyesore.

Is the craft cocktail bar still there? I know is shut down once. Was a cool place the couple times I went.

Hayride Scandal. Cool place, I had been a dozen times or so and enjoyed it. Took a couple of people there last month and they were moderately busy but not slammed. Stood at the bar with three people for at least ten minutes. Three bartenders working the bar. No one even acknowledged me. Not a glance, not a word, a wave, nada. frick them. I am out and won't be back.

Why does the OT love or hate him?

He's a people person with no real management skills.

Residents love him. Employees and investors don't.
That simple.

I did too. I never understood why it closed. Decent bar food, big screens, drink specials, crowds. Bring it back.
