I never understood why it closed.

Loved F&H but the place was a ghost town at lunchtime. I think it’s because they allowed smoking...

Stab’s is always packed. The wife and I tried to go there one night and it was a hour wait. We went to Sullivan’s instead and I got a piss poor $50 rib eye. We won’t be back.

I can reverse sear a Costco steak that tastes better than Sullivan’s.

They are currently part of the Del Frisco’s Restaurant Group our of Dallas, which broke off of Lone Star. They started sinking all their money into the Del Grilles and started losing their arse on them.

Dels went down hill when they licensed the name out to LS to take it national. It was cool at first with some of the location type they chose, ie. philly in an old fed reserve bldg, and trying to collect "gold coins," but quality all around went down hill. Other than their Dallas locale...until Dee Lincoln (Nola girl and widow of Del Frisco) was out.

Biggest mistake they made was when they decided to not get their cigar/piano bar "grandfathered in" when Dallas went smoke free. Lost a huge clientele of regulars that went over the dallas/addison border, and up an exit, when regulars convinced Chamberlins to turn there back "banquet (ala storage) room into a cigar bar. Now dels is in uptown. Nice place, but no where near the same.

Wow what a blast from the past seeing Leos face up in here. Ha. Typical friendly host. Had a hot girlfriend at the time, and she had some hot friends. So that was always a plus. Ha.

Crazy how things change. As a kid Del Friscos was the place that we kids knew about adults would go have dinner at for nice dinners, and we had to get all dressed up for. Like waiters "selling" their positions kind of place.

"Thhhaaank youuuu!"

TBH, while I liked Leo personally, I never really had a good steak at Sullivan’s when he ran the place.

He's a people person with no real management skills.

Residents love him. Employees and investors don't.
That simple.

Mikel, I'm going to steal a line from Remember the Titans: "Now I may be a mean cuss. But I'm the same mean cuss with everybody". That described Leo. I had many a screaming matches in the back with him then 10 minutes later we are talking to guests and he's telling them how great I was. As a whole, as long as you did your job, Leo loved you. Most of the people that didn't like him SUCKED at their job (granted what do you expect out of 18-25 yr olds?).

As far as management skills go, that man knew his numbers like the back of his hand. He believed in letting managers deal with the petty server BS and focus on the big picture.

Lastly, investors aka corporate loved him until the new CEO and entire new C-level execs came on board less than 2 years ago. Sullivan's BR was the top overall restaurant in the entire company (literally won the "FEED Cup" as the best restaurant). He made that place a killing.

Sullivan's has without a doubt changed since Leo left, and not for the better. Leo knows what he is doing and Wayne isn't stupid.

Yea I know you meant the one in Dallas. I got to tour that restaurant, before it moved. I still liked the Ft Worth Double Eagle way more. Their wine cellar is one of the coolest I have ever gotten to tour.

Was Stab’s the restaurant that had someone connected to it come on the Food Board and lose their mind on everyone talking shite about it?

Leo is a great host in that the customers loved him. It was the way he treated his employees especially the women that worked there that got him fired. He was an insufferable prick. He was warned numerous times and once suspended. He never learned so they canned his arse. Wayne will not tolerate his bullshite. Leo will be gone sooner than later
