OTer's with pools and young kids

About to start building a pool and wondering what's the best option for safety with young kids. We have a 5 year old and 2 year old.
We're leaning towards something that's easily removed that has netting between posts. Don't love the aesthetic look of this however we know 5-6 years from now we'll be able to discard it altogether. And also it can be removed pretty quickly if having a many people in the backyard at once.
What have you guys done? Here's a quick idea of what we're looking at (or something similar):

Just make it above ground and all you have to do is gate the ladder

Just teach them how to swim or send them to crawfish Aquatics

Have a 1 and 3 year olds. We have a gate like that. However, our gate simply separates the porch from the pool. It does not surround the entire pool like your photo.

Thanks for the input. It's pretty large and open covered patio so I'm not sure how'd we achieve what you're describing.

Have the nanny take care of the kids.
Or make them wear floaties 24/7.

Teach them how to swim ASAP!! That's what we did and never leave a child unattended in or around a pool.

Can you do that for all kids that happen to wander by?

We're going to have lots of swimming lessons as well as pool alarms. But I'd rather be safe than sorry even if it's not aesthetically pleasing for a few summers.
One thing nice about this temporary fences is they can be taken down and stored for the offseason. So basically it's only up while not in use from May - early September.

Is Weagle playing with a full deck?

I know this couple that lost their child due to repair man leaving door cracked, 2 yr old got out fell in pool and drowned. This happened last summer.
My buddy found his 3 yr old floating in the pool face down last summer while adults were outside socializing and he went inside to use the bathroom..
Luckily they revived him at hospital and he made it.
I have a pool and I have small kids.
I was worried till I took the floaties off told my 3 yr old (youngest) to dive down and get that golf ball off bottom.
He did, haven't worried since.
Not lot of good answers.
Swimming lessons and the floaties that go around their arms and chest are a must till you see they are comfortable a d confident.
Get a child loving dog can help too.

I would just do a sturdy gate around, whether temporary or more permanent. You can always remove the "permanent" ones later. It's worth spending money for something you know will stop the kids from getting in.

Jesus.
Yeah we're doing in-home swim lessons, pool alarm, and some type of netted fence that's torn down in a few minutes.
Not taking any chances.

You can drown any season of the year. You, your family, your neighbors, their pets, drunks wandering in can all drown.
You are going to have to keep water in it, less it pop out of the ground with or without major cracks.
Common sense answer: call your insurance agent and ask what they require to keep your home owners insurance within reasonable increases. If you don't know your agent or he/she is young, contact other agents to double check your agent.

ghetto grandmother in covington just had a young grandchild drown in their above ground pool. i wouldn't rely upon a guarded ladder as children grow.

That temporarily fencing in your pic looks like the best idea. Removable without leaving a trace behind once its no longer needed.
Friend has a pool and young kids with a similar setup to the fence in your photo except that there's slots in the decking around the pool where the safety fence posts slide into. Downside is those slots are still there even when the fencing isn't.
